Quality control of fruits and vegetables

This practice-oriented introductory training provides insight into recognising the most common defects and diseases, enabling you to determine whether a product meets the applicable quality criteria. We work with UNECE guidelines to ensure you can assess both products covered by specific standards and those without official classification.

The training includes ample opportunity for hands-on practice, where you will perform the inspection yourself – from visual product checks to labelling requirements. Additionally, you will learn the basic principles of drafting an quality report, allowing you to document findings in a clear and structured manner.

After completing this training, you will be well-prepared to become an independent quality controller. For this, you can follow specific modules of the quality controller course(s) at KIWA.

Gain insight into the basic principles of quality assessment of potatoes, fruit and vegetables. You will learn how to visually inspect produce, identify common defects and diseases, and record your findings in line with industry guidelines.
