CSRD and ESG
The Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) aims to promote transparency and traceability throughout the chain. The CSRD seeks to evaluate the material impact of business activities on climate, biodiversity, water and human rights.
As part of this objective, comprehensive and transparent sustainability reporting is a mandatory and integral part of companies’ annual reports and long-term strategies. CSRD reporting involves the entire company and relevant external stakeholders like customers, suppliers and NGOs in the pursuit of a sustainable business.
The CSRD aims for mandatory sustainability reporting. Starting in 2024, this obligation will apply to listed companies with 500 or more employees. From 2025 onward, companies meeting two out of three criteria below must also comply with this obligation.
- Total assets of more than 20 million
- Net turnover of more than 40 million
- More than 250 employees
From 2026 onward, small and medium-sized listed companies must also comply with the reporting obligation.
Integrating existing tools alongside risk and impact analyses and Due Diligence Frameworks is essential for assessing materiality and quantifying sustainability risks, consequences and opportunities. Our consultants assist in guiding and developing CSRD initiatives. In a multidisciplinary team, we advise on the essential steps of the CSRD, from mapping to implementation. In addition, our consultants audit compliance with the CSRD regulations.
Q-scan
Companies often have an established quality management system and are certified to meet customer demand. Optimising this management system is crucial, focussing on challenges in efficiency, functionality and improvement.
We believe that your quality system can be optimised. Therefore, we have developed the Q-Scan®. This tool utilises internal knowledge within your company to identify weaknesses and optimise usage of the management system. With minimal effort, the Q-Scan® provides concrete results for senior management and quality managers and ensures process transparency with a concrete approach to improvement. With this tool we help your company build a solid foundation for your management systems.
Waste analysis
Q-Point has advised several organisations on reducing food waste, both in the hospitality and retail sectors. Our consultants approach problems from an integral chain approach, taking every link into account.
Projects
One of the projects conducted was on behalf of Royal Burgers’ Zoo, aiming to reduce avoidable food waste by 50%. Our consultants focused on various aspects, starting with studying the consumption behaviour of visitors, followed by process optimisation. A prediction program was developed, leading to improved working and thinking practices in the restaurants and a significant reduction in food waste. Beyond expectations, the restaurants now waste 75% less food, purchase 30% less and generate the same revenue. For this innovative approach, Q-Point received the Food Valley Award in October 2016.
Another project conducted was on behalf of a Dutch supermarket chain, aiming to understand the impact of the best-before date on product waste. Consumers are sceptical regarding discounted items as the expiration date approaches, despite the sale of products with an expired best-before date being allowed as long as the product retains its normal properties. Our consultants investigated extending the best-before date without compromising the product’s properties. A one-day extension led to a reduction in write-offs of approximately 15%, a significant saving for the supermarket.
Value chain scan
In the fresh produce chain, it is crucial to measure performance and identify points of improvement for market parties. Based on this need, we developed a unique measuring instrument: the value chain scan (Ketenscan®). This tool aims to promote cooperation within the chain and offer all involved partners a competitive advantage.
The value of the value chain scan lies in its ability to directly linking business strategies with the performances of other chain parties. The tool provides insights into chain processes and relationships between chain parties. These insights form the basis for performance evaluation, identifying improvement points throughout the chain.
With our expertise, companies can purposefully strengthen and develop their supply chain while improving process efficiency and reducing costs.
