NUFFIC ORANGE KNOWLEDGE PROGRAMME
The Orange Knowledge Programme (Link to Nuffic Orange Knowledge Programme) is a € 220 m Dutch global development programme, available in 54 developing countries and managed by Nuffic, a Dutch non-profit organisation for internationalisation in education.
Launched mid-2017, it aims to have provided tens of thousands with the possibility to change their future through education and training by mid-2022. The programme is funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
LOOKING AT THE RESULTS AND BEING ABLE TO CONCLUDE: “IT’S GOOD!”
During a seminar in the Philippines where my students performed the task I normally perform, I (Victor Volkers) experienced one of the most happy moments as an internationally operating consultant.
With enormous enthusiasm and creativity the students organised the seminar for their colleagues in the Philippine feed industry. I only had to coach them on questions that were too complex and on their time management when the programme appeared to slow down.
These students were empowered to perform this seminar as an exam assignment at the end of our Orange Knowledge project TMT.18/00106. For the execution Q-Point teamed up with GMP+ International (Click here for the GMP+ website) and the Philippine Association of Feed Millers Inc. (PAFMI). After a bumpy start we were able to rollout the programme together.
The programme consisted of a training for the feed industry in week one. This was followed by a two-week intensive train-the-trainer programme on the GMP+ FSA standard.
Attention was paid to engaging and preparing the trainees to become (internal) consultants in the Philippine feed industry. Their expertise can now be used in their companies, but some of them have already indicated that they would opt for independent consultancy and become a registered consultant under the conditions of GMP+ International.
In week four the graduates of the TMT held the closing seminar, thus closing the circle of the project.
After the closing event, our project partner GMP+ International met with the chairman of PAFMI and the responsible people from the Ministry of Agriculture, resulting in promising agreements for further cooperation for the benefit of the Philippine feed sector.
