Over the past year, we have supported a number of start-up entrepreneurs in establishing their production processes in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for cosmetics. In doing so, we found that almost everyone encounters the same questions: where do you start, what is genuinely required, and how can you avoid costly mistakes?
Many questions relate to the practical implementation of the GMP Cosmetics guideline (ISO – International Organization for Standardization 22716:2007), which is a requirement under the European Cosmetics Regulation. How do you establish a logical workflow that prevents cross-contamination? What requirements apply to storage conditions and water quality? And how should incoming goods inspections and in-process controls be set up effectively?
Drawing on these experiences, we have developed a practical and accessible starter package. It guides you step by step through the process of setting up your production operations, with a strong focus on practical process support.

As of 12 August 2026, the "manufacturer" (as defined in the PPWR) must have drawn up an EU Declaration of Conformity and made it available to the competent authorities.
