Two pairs of eyes are better than one!

Even as a quality consultant, it can sometimes be difficult to see the bigger picture when you are closely involved in an organisation. For example, when you provide interim support and work with a company on a daily basis, certain ways of working can start to feel like second nature. And that’s exactly when a fresh pair of eyes can make all the difference!

That’s why colleagues at Q-Point regularly review the quality management systems they manage for their clients, offering each other a fresh perspective.

A great example of this is our collaboration with a fruit and vegetable trading company. As Q-Point colleague Tomas manages the IFS Broker quality management system on an interim basis, colleague Fabienne took responsibility for conducting the internal audits this year.

Not only because it’s important for internal audits to be carried out independently, but also because it helps us challenge each other’s thinking and maintain high standards.

And, of course, we carry out these audits on-site at the client’s premises! After all, even when a quality management system is managed by an interim consultant, responsibility for the various processes remains with the organisation itself. QA is involved in many processes and departments, but that doesn’t mean it’s responsible for everything.

That’s why, during an internal audit, we speak directly with the people responsible for these processes on a day-to-day basis. They are the ones who know best how things really work in practice.

These audits not only provide valuable insights and opportunities for improvement for the organisation, but also lead to interesting discussions between colleagues. While Tomas understands exactly why certain decisions were made, Fabienne can bring a fresh perspective and ask new questions.

It is an opportunity to explore how things could be done differently, more efficiently or more practically. To exchange ideas, share experiences from other companies and inspire one another. That is one of the great benefits of working together as consultants.

And next week? The roles will be reversed, with Yvette carrying out internal audits at an organisation where Fabienne manages the quality management system.

Because at Q-Point, collaboration is not just about supporting one another. It is also about continuously challenging each other to improve!
